A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Taking the spirit of indigenous habit in the Swadesi movement, Abdul Kalam has reinstated the true virtue of being an Indian. Launching our first indigenous satellite, Dr Kalam set a principle in the world.
Abu Pakir Jenulabdin Abdul Kalam Born in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, this simple person was actually planning to transform India and has dreams of radical changes visioned before 2020. Creating a space for India in the Space, with the Rohini satellite Abdul Kalam represents the scientific possibilities that have to be explored within India.
Going to nuclear weapons he also had his stint in advising the Defence in India. With an able team of capable scientists, Dr Kalam is aiming all the possibilities by building capacity for self reliance in the field of aeronautics for India. He also gave his knowledge by teaching as a Professor at Anna University in Chennai. Awarded with many glorious citations Dr Abdul Kalam has over 30 recognitions from various Universities.
Awarded with Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibushan in the eighties and the Bharat Ratna in 1997, Dr Kalam was the right choice for the post of a President in 2002.
