R.K. Narayan
Talent along with the reason for disseminating information was the work of R.K. Narayan. Rashipuram Krishnaswamy Iyer Narayanaswamy was short named to R. K. Narayan under the advice of Mr. Graham Greene. He was a famous writer and the popularity of Malgudi days is known for his renowned works. R. K. Narayan wrote for more than 50 years of his life.
His works are a collection of fiction, books, paperbacks and also travel writing. He lived till the age of 87. His work on translation was also appreciated by many. The life of a writer is a constant search for quality and to secure the belief of publishers. R. K. Narayan had immense dislike for programmed studies under the mandatory syllabus and the strict guidance of his father who was the dean at the school.
Being debarred for a year, he keenly took up reading literature and had an affinity for English. Majoring in MA he had decided to write for a living and his first book was a book on Maritime laws. Like a writer believes, he is most critical of his self work and does not esteem this work as his best production. His works had the element of simplicity which is easy for the common man to comprehend and relate to his life. Losing him is like losing the probable wealth of literature of our India.
